To those of you who’ve followed me from my other blogs, thank you! To those of you who are new, welcome!
Do you know what kind of life you want to live?
I did. But somewhere between the long work days, the family responsibilities, the volunteer commitments, and the day to day stresses of life – I wound up just surviving the days rather than living.
Sure, I felt happy….most of the time. And yes, most people thought I had a good life. But I knew the truth, I was reacting to situation (rather than being proactive), allowing moment to past me by and developing a deep resentment within my spirit.
Then a scare early in my pregnancy with my second daughter, forced me to SLOW DOWN. I found myself with lots of extra time to just think. And so I thought. I thought about what I really wanted out of life. One night, I sat alone at my kitchen table and wrote out this list on an index card:
Suddenly, I could see just what I wanted out of my life.
I want to have a deeper faith, to spend time with my family, to learn how to cook wholesome meals that nourish my families body, to be fit and healthy, and to share this journey that I am living thru this blog.
In addition to realizing what I want out of life, I realized that those wants are not just going to happen by themselves. Instead, each day I will have to make choices that move me closer to the goals I hope to achieve.
In other words, I have to live life with intention. My actions must align with my values and goals. What I do today is preparing me for the person I will be a year from now, or 5 years from now. And I want to share my journey with each of you.
It is my sincerest hope and prayer that “A Life Lived With Intention” becomes a place for me to share tips on marriage and parenting, tasty and delicious recipes, to seek accountability for my health and wellness choices, and to most importantly create a community of folks who each day live with the intention of creating the life they want to live.
So thank you for stopping by! Make yourself and home and I hope to hear from you soon!
