Growing up, I often dreamed about the man that I would married. I thought about the color of his hair, the shape of his eyes, how broad his shoulders would be, and the sound of his voice. What I didn’t give much thought to was the kind of father, he would be. Thankfully, as I grew older (and wiser) I began to think about how important a man’s character was, and how I wanted to marry a man who would be an amazing father.
Micheal, I and our girls have been blessed to share our lives with you. When we were dating, I would watch you with our nieces and nephews, and knew that you would make a great father. And then we had Joycelen, and I watched you exceed all of my expectations.
From the moment, she was born it was evident how deep your love for our daughter ran and how you were willing to do anything to ensure her happiness and safety.
From midnight diaper changes, to early morning feedings, to staying up ALL night long when she has been sick, you have never shirked your parental responsibilities. If anything, you often go above and beyond the call of duty to take care of your girl. And as a result, our daughters will learn the importance of a good work ethic and how to care for others.
Most importantly, you are a man of faith. You live out your belief in Jesus Christ, and teach Joycie (and soon Emaleigh) how to place their trust in him.
You are an amazing father. And I thank our Savior each day, that I am able to raise our girls with you! Happy Father’s Day Babe!
