Fashion Friday: Honing in On My Style
For the majority of my life, fashion and style held little of my interest or attention. Growing up, I was a tomboy. My wardrobe consisted of gym shorts, tanks, and sneakers in warm weather and sweatsuits and sneakers in winter. My hair was always in a ponytail. And makeup – ha – it wasn’t happening.
As I grew, I started to dabble with fashion. But I always felt as though I was playing dress-up. Nothing felt like me.
Somewhere along the way, I got married, had a baby, started a successful career, turned 30, had another baby. And here I am now, 32 to soon to be 33 – feeling much like I did growing up hopelessly lost when it comes to fashion and style.
Then I read this post at Wardrobe Oxygen. And it clicked.
My entire life, I have been trying to imitate others styles rather than defining my own. So I have decided that for the next 6 months I am going to work on honing in on MY STYLE. My end goal is a wardrobe that works for all areas of my life. In the words of blogger Fran, a cohesive wardrobe.
So over the weekend, I’ll be following Fran’s tips in this post and starting this process.
Each Friday, I will share with you a little bit about what I’m doing and learning!
Over to you, how do you define your personal style?
