Much like your 1 month update, this 2 month update is late. I hope that years from now you want feel slighted because I did not get your updates posted in a timely manner. I am trusting that you will understand that I was busy caring for you and your big sister – that spending time living the moment was more important to me than blogging it. But that it in no way reflected that I was less involved or excited about your growth and changes. Your Daddy and I are so overwhelmed with love for you, I thought my heart couldn’t hold another drop of love when your sister was born, then 4.5 years later you came along and my heart just swelled even more with love. You have made our family even better….
Eating: You are now drinking 4.5 to 5 ounces every 2 to 3 hours during the day. In the evenings, you tend to space out your feedings a bit more. For example, yesterday you had a “2 ounce snack” around 5:00 p.m. and then went to sleep until 11:00 p.m. when you woke up for a full 5 ounce bottle. Speaking of sleep…..
Sleeping: You are waking up at 6:00 a.m. every morning for your first feeding. You tend to be very alert and happy after your feeding, so we tend to spend some time playing and cuddling before we wake up your big sister and begin the day. You go down for a short nap between 7:15 and 7:30 since you are normally riding in the car at that point. You take a longer morning nap around 10:30 or 11:00, a short nap again about 2:15, and for the past 2 weeks you have been napping/sleeping for several hours from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 or 11:00 when you wake up for a bottle.
Clothing: A few 0-3 months pieces, mostly 3-6 month onesies and outfits, and even a few 6 months pieces. We are in an awkward place, as 0-3 month bottoms are too tight on your legs, but the 3-6 month capris/leggings are too long. For now, we are just rolling them up and letting you rock the cuffed look.
New this month: You started daycare. Since Papa Babo broke his leg, Nana Nancy has been unable to keep you. Thankfully, we we were able to enroll you in the same daycare that your sister attended. And you handled the change without any major fussiness. You seem to enjoy being around other babies – and of course getting spoiled by the daycare workers.
Your likes: Joycie is still your favorite person in the whole world. Every time you hear her voice or see her face, you break into the biggest grin. You also seem to enjoy swinging in your baby swing and playing on your playmat.
Emaleigh, Mama and Daddy strive not to make too many comparisions between you and your sister Joycelen. But it is easy to see that you have a similarly laid-back, go with the flow attitude – unless you are super tired or super hungry – then you reveal your temper by releasing high pitched screams, kicking your legs and even pulling your own hair. However, your temper tantrums never last very long and you are so stinking cute that we really don’t mind. We are amazed at how quickly you are changing, and are eager to see what next month has in store for you!
